No one had ever shown up with really wide tires before, this year we had four.
John Evingson, his brother Matt and a friend showed up on Iditarod type bikes, with 3" tires on double width rims.

I imagine they expected to have the fattest tires there. They'd never met Aaron Stiles.
Aaron's bike has a unique offset rear wheel,
which allows a straight chain run. He didn't
seem to have any trouble riding it. I sure did.

John and Matt's bikes had SnowCat rims.
One of the bikes had 2 rims laced to one hub, with extra holes.
